Nikolaus Sühr, CEO & Founder of Kasko, was a speaker at one of the first InsTech London events 3 years ago. At our July 8th event, he was back to discuss ‘InsurTech as a Service’.
Kasko, founded in 2015, provides plug-and-play ready solutions, enabling insurers to turn insurance products from idea or paper to digital in, they say, as little as 4-6 weeks. Currently, Kasko is working with 15+ insurers in 5 countries with 40+ active products. Customers include Allianz, Baloise, Swiss Re and Zurich.
Nikolaus Sühr said, “We enable insurers to bring products to market and scale them up outside of their own IT infrastructure. Early on we made a decision to focus on making the sales cycle really accessible to buyers, so as to make this process the complete opposite of a meaningless RFP. We’re also publishing more and more self-service tools, so developers can program on our platform.”
When asked where the best opportunities lie, Sühr states that 95% of Kasko’s business is insurers, though they also work with MGAs, reinsurers, and banks. A well-known Kasko product was AI-powered insurance for Swiss watches via Swiss insurer Baloise.
Sühr commented on the importance of networking for Kasko, “We’re B2B so it’s really important to meet decision-makers and understand their portfolio of initiatives. Events like InsTech London’s are also really important to us.”
